As a spiritual life coach, I find myself focusing a lot on anger and stress management with new clients. Here are my tips on how to control stress & anger.
This is a lesson we all must learn before we can discover the Divine Truth of Who and What We Really Are.
Without learning how to control and deal with anger and stress, your life can become derailed enough that your passion and purpose become lost in a quagmire of fear.
I am here to make sure that doesn’t happen. I am here to help.
Anger and Stress Management | Understand the Origins
By learning about what causes anger, you can better equip yourself to deal with it as it arises.
Anger is generally caused by a fearful reaction to a threat on your ego perception of yourself and your world. When someone or something makes you afraid, your initial reaction may be anger.
Stress is also a major factor in the production of anger. Everyone deals with stress in their lives, but not many of us are able to dismiss it before it can wreak terrible havoc on our health, our relationships, and our higher purpose.
The next time you get angry, force yourself into an analytical mode so that you can take note of exactly what caused you to become angry and why. Then, in the future, you can try to avoid situations like that. Your Highest Good demands that you don’t become unnecessarily mired in fear, anger, stress, and other agents of the Old Paradigm.
How to Deal With Anger | Before It Has Arrived
Although anger and stress are mostly forces that take us by surprise, and are therefore experienced by even the most genuinely laid back of human beings, there are things you can do to help keep them at bay.
- Meditate — Mediation is a fantastic way to invite peace and spiritual well-being into your life. The ancient art will help you recognize and dismiss stress and anger as they appear on your life.
- Walk in Someone Else’s Shoes — Remember a time you were angry with someone and then put yourself in that person’s position. See why they were doing what they were doing and understand that everyone had a right to feel angry. Walking in someone else’s shoes may help you avoid anger in the future.
- Set Achievable Goals — Stress, a leading factor in anger, can be caused by not reaching certain goals you set. Either work harder to reach them, or adjust your goal-making to better suit your ability to accomplish them. This will greatly reduce the stress, and therefore anger, in your life.
How to Control Anger | After It’s Arrived
If you find yourself overcome by anger, it’s still possible to deny its grip on your emotions and find a way to disengage yourself from it completely.
There are steps you can take to manage your anger, even after it has already reared its ugly head and gone to work on your psyche.
Follow these three simple steps, and you’ll be well on your way to moving past the anger and back into the normal path of your life’s journey towards true success and Highest Good.
- Don’t say a word — Closing your mouth before you can say something to fuel your anger is a monumental step towards dismissing the beast.
- Deep Breaths — Breathe very deeply while you’re mouth is closed so that you can begin to calm your mind and body after the adrenaline rush of anger has amped up your system.
- Be Pleasant — If you feel like yelling, stay quiet. If you feel like crying, breathe deeply. If you feel like scowling, smile. Choose to be pleasant in the face of anger and you will eradicate its hold on you.
