Finding Your Passion: Discover Who You Are & Change Your Life

finding your passionFor those who’ve unknowingly held it prisoner for much of their adult lives, finding your passion is a difficult endeavor. But it’s also very necessary.

A lot of folks go through the years of their life pretending to enjoy what they do on a day-to-day basis, allowing them to get through the ticking hours and minutes. This does nothing but waste precious time. Others have simply lied to themselves enough that they even believe a life without passion is still a healthy one.

One of the many steps you must take to learn the Truth of Who You Really are and to reinstitute your internal blueprint is to uncover your passion. Finding your passion, freeing it from its prison, and rejoicing in the way it brightens and enlivens your soul–these are the benchmarks on the road to a healthy life.

Finding Your Passion | A Soul-full Definition

Where has your passion gone? Before we answer that, let’s take a moment to clarify the vocabulary. By passion, I’m not necessarily speaking of energetic romance, chest-beating political soliloquies, or sports fanaticism.

Then again, I’m not necessarily dismissing them, either.

Your passion is what electrifies your spirit; it is the secret ingredient in the recipe of Who You Really Are; it is what makes every moment of your life worth living; and it is what transforms you into a person at whom other people admire in slack-jawed wonder.  Passion isn’t limited to a single pursuit, but rather it’s who you become when the pursuit is being made.

In other words, your passion isn’t the New York Yankees or watercolor painting or writing poetry for your beloved…

…your passion is defined by how these things transform you.

When your soul is full of love and light, when you can wish for nothing more, and when you have to share your happiness with the world–these are signs that you are bathing in the rejuvenating pools of your True Self’s passion.

How to Find Your Passion | Letting Imagination Be Your Guide

But the question remains: how do you go about finding your passion?

The truth is that your passion has never left you–it’s still waiting, right there, just under the surface, for you to rediscover it. But living under the oppression of the Old Paradigm has forced you to cover your passion under layers of meaningless needs, obligations, and counterfeit beauty.

When you are young–before the Old Pardigm has been able to poison your soul with its false promises–your passion is ever-present. It lets you be whoever you want to be. It allows you to bask in the light of The Light. It is always there to guide you, protect you, and direct your passage among the beautiful twists and turns of your internal blueprint.

Then we get older and our passion gets buried.

Returning to your childhood in order to recover your passion isn’t a possibility…but rediscovering what it was about your childhood that allowed your passion to thrive is a step in the right direction. And the answer is this: imagination.

Allow your imagination to take charge for a few minutes every day. Dream about life on Mars, wonder what it’s like to roam the floors of the ocean, and revel in fantastic fancies. Open your imagination, then watch as your passion begins to peel back the layers that have buried it all these long years.

Imagination isn’t the only key to finding your passion, but it’s certainly a wise one to choose.

Discovering Your Passion | A Fresh Look at Yourself

When you’ve found your passion, you’ll discover a brand new world for yourself. Passion by itself won’t reveal the Whole Truth of Who You Really Are, but it will batter down certain roadblocks that have been keeping you from that revelation.

When doing something you love makes you feel loved by life, you’ve found your passion. Now, look in your figurative mirror and tell yourself what you see.

  • Happiness?
  • Devotion?
  • Purpose?
  • Divinity?

These are all glimpses of your True Self. And it was finding passion that helped you make this giant leap.

Do you have other ways in which you find your passion and want to share them? Do you need clarification about the roles passion and imagination play in the development of Who You Really Are?
